The TryfactaEDU Global Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. John Crowley as Interim Chair of the Board of Directors, effective September 2025. This marks an important milestone in the early development of the Foundation’s governance and reflects the Foundation’s commitment to building a leadership structure grounded in global expertise, ethical stewardship, and long‑term vision.
Dr. Crowley brings more than 35 years of experience across industry, consulting, academic research, and international public administration. As Chairman & CEO of the PHGD Group, he leads a family of companies engaged in environmental, social, cultural, and technological transformation, in addition to renewable‑energy solutions. His recent leadership of the Culture2030Goal Campaign—published in September 2025—demonstrates his ability to unite diverse global stakeholders behind bold frameworks for sustainable development, including the drafting of a Culture Goal and the design of its associated indicators.
Before founding PHGD Group, Dr. Crowley spent 18 years at UNESCO, where he oversaw several strategic portfolios. As Head of the Section for Research, Policy and Foresight from 2014 to 2021, he guided interdisciplinary work on future‑oriented policy design. Prior to that, he led programs in the ethics of science and technology and in global environmental change. Between 2017 and 2023, he served as the inaugural Chair of the Ethics Committee of the French Natural History Museum, strengthening its institutional integrity and ethical review capacity. Earlier in his career, he worked as an economist in the oil industry and later as a research fellow at the French National Political Science Foundation. His academic record includes several books and more than one hundred scholarly articles and chapters in political theory, comparative politics, and international relations.
Dr. Crowley’s appointment strengthens the Foundation at a pivotal time. His depth of global experience, combined with his career‑long engagement in responsible innovation, public policy, and cultural cooperation, aligns with the Foundation’s mission to expand equitable, future‑ready learning opportunities for underserved communities. His leadership will help guide the Foundation as it scales its work across research, community partnerships, technology‑enabled learning environments, and international collaboration.
The appointment processes for the Interim Chairs of the Supervisory and Advisory Boards are currently underway in accordance with the Foundation’s By‑Laws. These bodies will form the full governance architecture that ensures transparency, oversight, and mission‑aligned decision‑making as the Foundation continues to grow.
With Dr. Crowley’s leadership, the TryfactaEDU Global Foundation enters its next phase with clarity of purpose and strengthened institutional grounding, advancing its long‑term commitment to transforming education and expanding access to high‑impact learning opportunities across India and beyond.
